forget about the other game, todays match is as good as a game you can get. playing at valentine on a 35+ degrees day we start badly as we lose the toss and find out we only have 10 players. we get sent in to field in the extreme heat. first 18 overs were bowled in the extreme of the heat, but it was after that that the incoming 'storm' and a cool breeze cooled things down. and after bowling them out for 105 i managed to pick up my best bowling of 4-17 of 8.1 overs. valentine were to field in the cool the complete opposite of what we faced. things were going good as we were only needing about 35 runs to win with 6 wickets in hand. but all of a sudden things fell apart. we were losing wickets regularly and find ourself needing 23 runs with 2 wickets in hand. then with 1 wicket in hand and needing 8 runs for the win, i come in to bat. previously this season i had scored a total of 4 runs in 6 innings and the whole team was as nervous as me. slowly but steadily we close in on the target. then in what was to be the last over i hit two runs with what i thought would put us 1 run behind their total then the very next ball i try to hit over cover but the ball that was struck well manages to hit the fielders palm and continue on as i pick up another two runs. that was it we won by 1 wicket, but if that guy caught the catch it would have been a tie. i finished with 6 runs not out and we held on for the tighest of wins you can ask for. best/closest game of cricket i have played/seen ever. except i wouldnt want it to happen again.

what a game [Feb. 4th, 2006|05:49 pm]
look out cricket here we come. it started out with adamstown winning the toss, and electing to bat. taking full advantage of the conditions, they looked comfortable at 0-129 after 18 overs. then after the most unluckiest run out ever, they found themselves at 1-130. then something happened with a player from the opposition taking a hat-trick leaving us at 7-149. we steadied ourselves to be 8-235 after our 35 overs. it wasnt to be mayfields day. after the 1st over they found themselves 1-2 (with the two runs being extras), then after 1.1overs they were 2-2 (thanks to me getting a wicket on my first ball) they fought a little but couldnt do much to be all out for 31. giving adamstown a 204 run victory against the second place mayfield. now after todays result we swap positions on the ladder with adamstown climbing to 2nd and mayfield dropping down to 3rd.

tomorrow is my birthday. am i excited not really. looking forward to cricket training more than turning 1 year older. clearly should be going for my p's tomorrow but struggling with hours, plan to clock up enough hours in the remaining days of the holidays. now since i am turning 17 tomorrow i may be able to work out how to excute the 1-7 manoeuvre in soccer, since those digits are the same as my age. for those how are wondering what it is, nobody really knows except for Alex Bird, it is a play that i made up that i dont know what it is. it changes all the time.

why is it so hard to shop for certain items that you need. you seem to find the item but it doesnt suit you because it is the wrong style/size/etc. why does this always happen.

science bibles are so obese. melbourne cup day is fun, but not being able to watch the race on a television for the first time since i can remember is pretty disappointing, damn you mrs mackenzie.

on another note, cricket this weekend against valentine-smelly-banana at the worst ground for anything in the whole entire world, valentine sports complex, last time i played sport there got in trouble by the referee and had to go to a hearing only to find out i didnt say anything, and alex who goes as a witness gets two weeks. it is a bad place.
